I love the way this piece ebbs and flows so easily, drawing the reader in, keeping them engaged until the very last sentence. The time stamps worked so well too - the days/weeks/years/moments. It's also loaded with honesty and a raw guilt that as humans we have all felt at one time or another. Thanks for this very cool story and congratulations!
Thank you, Jen. Thank you for taking the time to write and to read my story. And thank you for the congrats, too. My first win in writing so it's made me proud and maybe a little self conscious if you know what I'm sayin'...
Bar, I totally get that! I've only been writing professionally for about a year and feel the same way each time my work is published and read by complete strangers. I recently wrote a piece for a new anthology about infidelity and was freaking out writing it and submitting it. If they choose the essay I'll definitely need to refill my wine fridge. LOL Good luck in the future and I look forward to reading more of your beautiful writing.
I hear you! Keep writing, keep telling those stories. A friend of mine and I were talking about it all yesterday and agreed that even though it's unsettling to expose stories like these, there are lots of other people in a similarly exhausting and challenging period of their life. Always good to know there are others who understand because they've been there. Thanks again for the kind words.

This is a deeply moving story.
Thank you. It's a hard story to tell but storytelling is what we need to do. Thank you for listening.
